In this research, we investigate the role of organizational structure development in Iran’s police personnel from the viewpoint of commanders and managers. This is an applied research by propose, and descriptive, survey research by data collection method. This is also a correlational research as it explores the relationship between two variables. The statistical population includes the commanders and managers in headquarters and specialized police departments of Mazandaran province disciplinary command. Based on the Cochran formula, 214 individual were selected through stratified random sampling technique as the sample. The data collection tools were the standard questionnaire of organizational structure (1998) and standard questionnaire of efficiency. Using the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient formula, the reliability of the two sets of questions was estimated as 97% and 83% respectively. Also, descriptive statistics were used to describe and summarize features of the collected data, and the regression correlation coefficient using SPSS software package was used to interpret and analyze the information. The results indicate that there is a meaningful relationship between organizational structure and efficiency of the personnel. The obtained results also suggest that there is a meaningful relationship between the components of organizational structure and efficiency of the personnel, in which the dimensions of formality and complexity, respectively, have the highest and lowest correlation coefficients. That is, the more the structure is centralized, the less is the efficiency and the more the structure have formality, the less is the efficiency, and finally, the more the structure is complex, the less is the efficiency.
